Seattle Seahawks Eager to Notch Victories for their Fans

Sports Insider http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The state of Washington is the home base for the Seattle Seahawks. This NFL team plays in the western division of the National Football Conference. The Seattle team is known for their ability to put on a stunning performance and it begins with their surprising entrance onto their home field. Many people will purchase Seattle Seahawks tickets just to watch as the football squad is led out of the stadium tunnel by a soaring Aqur Hawk, named Tania. The 2008 season and 4-12 record was a stunning reversal from the division victories the Seahawks have been posting for the previous 4 seasons.

The Seahawks have the distinction of being the only NFL team to have ever played in championship title games for both the NFC and the AFC. This is a fact that makes the team’s fans extremely proud. When they tell others that their “Hawks” are the best, they are able to point to the team’s impressive record in both conferences.

Seahawks Through the Years

Today the Seahawks are one of the dominant squads in pro football. They have claimed the NFC title in 2005, and they have won the NFC West Division championship every year from 2004-2007. In 1988, the team played in Super Bowl XL and almost took the crown home. Since 2002, fans with Seattle Seahawks tickets have enjoyed attending the games at the Qwest Stadium, which is a spectacular, state of the art sports facility.

In 1972, there was a concerted effort by a group of investors, including the Nordstrom family, to land a new NFL franchise for the west coast. This time the home base would be the city of Seattle, WA. The franchise was granted to Seattle Professional Football, Inc in 1974. In 1976, the relentless work of fans and investors had paid off, and the Seattle Seahawks football team played their first professional game.

The Legendary Kingdome Fans Earn Their Stripes

The Kingdome was the first site for the Washington state team to play and the crowds made all games sellout events. Fans bought all Seattle Seahawks tickets and their loud, boisterous cheers transformed the huge sports complex into the loudest and most electrifying setting in the NFL. The noise was once so deafening that the NY Giants were forced to make 11 false starts in a game that they ended up losing to the Seattle Seahawks.

This pro football club has several ways to stir the fans and create additional excitement. The team has also given official recognition to the loyalty and enthusiasm of their fans. They have done this by making fan support an honored and important part of the activities.

As a tribute to their supporters, the Seahawks decided to retire the number “12” from their lineup. Then they sold team jerseys bearing that number but instead of a player name on the back these jerseys are usually distinguished by the word “Fan”. The number “12” is also on a special stadium flag that is now ceremoniously raised for each of the team’s home games.

2009 Seahawks want to be at the Top of the Division Standings Early

The 2009 will be led by a new coach and there will also be new faces on the roster. Seattle Seahawks tickets will once again be hard to find as loyal supporters rally behind their hometown favorites. When Tania leads the new lineup out onto the field of Qwest stadium, the loud cheers of the Seahawk fans will echo in the ears of the players. The team is going to be determined to once again reassert their claim as “top dog” in their division.
